About Phoenix Cultural Centre of Toronto

Established in 2015, the Phoenix Cultural Centre of Toronto (also known as the Phoenix Institute) is one of Canada’s most distinguished indie art centres, dedicated to producing, distributing, and promoting independent art. Initially a key player in promoting Iranian cinema in Toronto, the Centre has since expanded its focus to supporting and producing a diverse range of artistic projects across Canada. Over the past decade, it has distributed more than 50 films nationwide and has produced and financed four feature films. Today, it operates its own online channel for showcasing art films, partners with several local film festivals—including the Cyrus Film Festival—and serves as the primary publisher of Phoenix Journal(in Farsi) and Phoenix Hub (in English).
